Born and raised in Chino Hills, California, I started playing sports at the age of four. I have played soccer 18 years but had to stop after a blow to my left knee, softball for 12 years, ran track for four years, Jiu Jistu and Muay Thai for two years. At the age of 20, I started lifting weights after realizing I didn’t want to be uncomfortable in my own body anymore. After losing 20lbs (165-145), I went on a family vacation to lake Meade for Memorial weekend and ended up hyperextending my back, which resulted in torn muscles, jammed vertebrae, pinched nerves, and was almost paralyzed. But!, being the stubborn Leo that I am, I decided I could not quit on my journey, so I set myself up for a half marathon that would take place on my 21st Birthday. So during the marathon after mile nine my knee locked up, remember that blow to the knee I mentioned before?, well, it was actually a torn hamstring. I rehabbed my injuries all on my own and now I am stronger than ever! What that all has taught me is that ones journey is never perfect and there are going to be set backs, but as long as you never give up on your dreams and always move in a positive direction, you will get to where you want to go!
